
May Mergenthaler (Ph.D. Princeton University), is Associate Professor of German at Ohio State University and has published a monograph on Early German Romanticism, articles about poetry and poetic theory and criticism, the public sphere, and environmental humanities, as well as a co-edited volume on the cultural public sphere. She is currently writing a book about concepts and figures of light in the lyric from the late 17th to the early 19th centuries and co-editing volumes about poetry criticism and manuscript cultures in the age of the book.
