Professor of cultural studies at KU Leuven (Belgium). Jan Baetens has a special interest in word and images studies, often in so-called minor genres (novelization, comics, photonovel), but also published on contemporary literature and poetry. As a published poet, he is the author of some twenty collections of poetry, among other writings, of a novel (Faire sécession, 2017) and a film photonovel (Une fille comme toi, 2020). In his creative work, he often collaborates with woodcut artist Olivier Deprez.
